IFRA-approved tests for fragrance allergy, plus an animal-alternative transdermal diffusion model, will be presented by MilliporeSigma during in-cosmetics Global.
This year's event will be held on April 2-4, 2019, in Paris. To learn more from MilliporeSigma, visit the company at booth M70.
Fragrance Allergenicity
Two ready-to-use, International Fragrance Association-compliant (IFRA-compliant) mixtures will be presented by the company. These certified reference materials are suitable as calibrants for the new IFRA method to test 57 potentially allergenic fragrances. All components have been certified by quantitative NMR spectroscopy with traceability to NIST SRM.
Dermal Diffusion
In addition, MilliporeSigma will highlight its Strat-M membrane, a synthetic substrate used as a model to assay transdermal diffusion. Studies of multiple compounds have shown that diffusion through the Strat-M membrane has a strong correlation with diffusion through human cadaver skin. As a more sustainable test model, it provides an alternative to current animal-based forms.
