Derived from organic chestnut, the ingredient is said to confer rapid and long-lasting cosmetic benefits by acting as:

  • a makeup perfector, with holding power for up to 6 hr after application; and
  • a beauty enhancer, acting as soon as 15 min after appliction to smooth microrelief and revive complexion radiance.

Croda Inc.'s Natrineo CR8

Natrineo CR8 (INCI: Cetearyl/Cetearyl Polypropanediol-8 Phosphate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol) is described as a PEG-free phosphate ester emulsifier that offers the ability to create water-in-oil-in-water (w/o/w) emulsions using a single ingredient, simplifying formulation processes. Per the company, Natrineo CR8 enhances the visual appeal of emulsions, resulting in a more sensorial and refined texture. Additionally, it improves the delivery of active ingredients, optimizing their performance and efficacy.

Both in vitro and in vivo testing reportedly confirmed its ability to improve sunscreen formulation efficacy in inorganic sunscreen formulations containing titanium dioxide. Its broad pH tolerance further increases formulation flexibility across a wide range of applications.

Croda Inc.'s Sphingo’HAIR Drypure

Sphingo’HAIR Drypure (INCI: Ceramide NP) is described as a unique bio-fermentation derived ceramide NP that replenishes the skin with essential longer-chain ceramide and promotes healthy scalp and hair barrier structures. Per the company, pre-clinical and clinical evaluations conducted with Sphingo’HAIR Drypure demonstrated its significant impact on:

  • The regulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines, heat-activated channels and atopic skin markers;
  • Scalp reinforcement, with increased hydration and reduction of irritation and flaking; and
  • Optimal hair moisture, cuticle smoothing, increased hair shine and softness.
