Natural Sourcing, LLC, has added Amla Oil (INCI: Emblica Officinalis (Amla) Fruit Extract (and) Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil) to its portfolio of natural ingredients for personal care product development.

The company's Amla Oil is known for its ability to nourish healthy hair and scalp and is produced through a multi-step process. First, amla fruit is crushed and boiled to release its natural oils, then reduced under vacuum pressure. The hydro-extract is then warmed in sesame oil and the remaining moisture is removed. The seeds are expeller pressed separately. The expeller pressed seed oil is finally collected and added to the sesame oil extract, producing the end Amla Oil product.

Properties include:

  • Golden yellow to light brown hue
  • Light, sweet, nutty aroma
  • Medium viscosity
  • Medium absorption
  • Effective slip/glide
  • High moisturization and emollience

“Amla Oil possesses an impressive reputation for its efficacy in nourishing the scalp, conditioning dry and brittle hair, and for promoting strong, healthy and shiny hair,” said Kibby Mitra, CEO of Natural Sourcing. “Amla Oil is especially well-suited to condition curly, wavy, textured and other hair types that benefit from significant hydration and moisturization. It also helps to dramatically soothe and moisturize the scalp, and assists with dry and problem scalp concerns.

"Amla Oil helps support natural, healthy hair growth and provides exceptional conditioning and moisturization to the hair and scalp when used as a hot oil treatment, deep conditioner or hair pomade. It is also effective when incorporated into shampoos, scalp treatments and other hair and scalp formulations.”
