A new clinical study shows promising results for a formulation containing 1% Gatuline In-Tense MB (INCI: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (and) Acmella Oleracea extract) on the neck, décolleté and arms of women with mature skin. These results will be presented during in-cosmetics Asia, held Nov. 5-7, 2019, in Bangkok.
The previously launched Gatuline In-Tense MB active was designed to address skin firmness concerns. It was shown to reinforce the dermis structure, helping skin to recover firmness and tonicity while erasing crepiness.
According to Gattefossé, in a new clinical study, multiple evaluation techniques were used to determine the efficacy of the active: skin firmness was evaluated on the basis of cutometry on the forearms; décolleté fine lines and wrinkles were examined based on 3D acquisitions; clinical scoring was performed by a dermatologist; and self-assessments were made by the volunteers using a questionnaire.
Results highlighted a significant reduction of fine lines and wrinkles at the décolleté and neck level, with skin appearing smoother and softer. Analysis by cutometry also showed a significant improvement in skin firmness and tonicity.
Gatuline In-Tense MB is a concentrated oily extract from the flower of the Acmella plant, also called Paracress or “Brède mafane”—a traditional spicy condiment. Gattefossé notes Acmella is renowned for its high content in alkylamides, which has proven to be an excellent marker of anti-aging efficacy.
