Hidden Hair Damage and the Importance of Multiple Tests
It is of paramount importance for hair researchers to know the history of hair at the time of applying a treatment. The lack of such knowledge can create misleading results. Thus, a stress-strain test in both dry and wet states can provide a rapid means to check the reliability of the information collected, as is shown here.

Keratin Blend Anchors Follicles and Prevents Pollution-induced Hair Fall
Poor scalp health compromises hair quality. As such, the topical application of keratins was explored to increase collagen IV in the scalp skin. Live scalp explants were used to test this approach for improved follicle anchoring and, in turn, protection against environmental assault, hair fall and damage.

Zeta Potential and Particle Size to Predict Emulsion Stability
Emulsions are popular vehicles in skin care due to their affinity for the skin; however, they are thermodynamically unstable systems. This study investigates zeta potential and particle size distribution as potential screening tools to predict instabilities in emulsion-based cosmetic products, to supplement regular accelerated stability testing.
