Beiersdorf introduces two new invisible plaster products for wound care under the Hansaplast/Elastoplast/CURITAS brand: the Second Skin Protection Spray Plaster and Liquid Plaster Concentrate.

According to the company, research indicates 58% of consumers avoid using conventional plasters because users find them uncomfortable, impractical or too visible. These new formats are intended to offer less visible and more adaptable solutions for everyday needs.

"With the new Spray Plaster and Liquid Plaster Concentrate, we are expanding our successful Second Skin Protection franchise into formats that meet real everyday needs," said Burcu Andreae-Nehlsen, president of Beiersdorf's derma and health care. “These solutions are invisible, convenient, and rooted in science — making wound care easier for people who traditionally skip it altogether."

Flexible Film-Former Base

As the company explains, both products are based on film-forming technology that creates a flexible and invisible seal over minor wounds. When applied, the liquid or spray dries quickly to form a breathable, water-resistant film that provides an effective barrier against dirt and water.

This protective layer is reportedly highly flexible and designed to remain in place even on mobile parts of the body, making it suitable for areas where traditional plasters may not adhere or may restrict movement.

The Liquid Plaster Concentrate has a gel-like texture and is dispensed with a narrow tube applicator, allowing for precise application, especially on small scratches or cracks in the skin.

The Spray Plaster is useful for hard-to-reach areas and offers quick, even coverage. Both types of liquid bandage aim to make wound care more adaptable to active lifestyles without the need to apply a second dressing. In addition, the film wears off naturally over time.

Educational Wound Care Campaign

To accompany the launch, Hansaplast will run an educational campaign focused on common myths, such as the idea that wounds need to “air out” to heal. Expert advice and practical wound care information will be distributed through digital platforms and social media.

Making Wound Care Intuitive

“Our new spray and liquid formats make scientifically proven wound protection more intuitive than ever,” said Enno Martini, general manager of global health care at Beiersdorf. “By combining convenience with education, we are empowering consumers to care for their skin in a way that feels natural — so they can focus on what matters, not on minor injuries.”

This launch extends Hansaplast’s longstanding approach of providing practical and effective solutions for everyday wound care.
