Jack Henry, a company that focuses on 'clean' men’s care, put together several kits that target different personal care needs. In particular, the company created The Essentials Kit for men who are looking for basic body care.

Jack Henry claims all products are cruelty-, synthetic- and preservative-free. To abide by its eco-friendly philosophy, the company utilizes amber glass bottles and jars to minimize plastic waste and fully protect the product inside. According to the company, the amber tint helps to prevent UV rays and light from damaging the ingredients in the product on a molecular level.

The Essentials Kit includes three products: Cleanse+, Deodorant and Clay Pomade.

Cleanse+

This is a concentrated but gentle all-in-one cleanser made for face, body, hands and hair. It contains prebiotic sea extracts and hydrating botanicals that reportedly feed the skin’s microbes, allowing the healthy bacteria to multiply faster and release enzymes that optimally balance the skin's pH—leading to brighter, firmer, more toned skin. Additionally, the cleanser is said to alleviate dry skin, acne, eczema, inflammation and redness.

Deodorant

The Jack Henry Deodorant was tested on professional athletes for up to 48 hr protection. Plant botanicals and bentonite clay are utilized to absorb sweat and odor, and the blend of hinoki, juniper and eucalyptus oils keep the user smelling fresh. As with all of the company's products, the deodorant contains no synthetics, alcohol or aluminum.

In addition, the company offers the following natural detox guide with its deodorant, noting that switching from an antiperspirant to deodorant can cause the body to detox for a couple of weeks—which, in turn, can cause the user discomfort from odor due to the adjustment.

  • Week one: The body will start to adjust.
  • Week two: The body will start to sweat more due to the underarm area purging toxins, which can increase the growth of odor-causing bacteria in the underarm area.
  • Week three: Even though consumers will feel more moisture due to toxin purging, the underarm area will adjust and odor will decrease.
  • Week four: The body should have fully adjusted to the natural deodorant. According to the company, it can take up to 30 days for the body to regulate itself but detox may be shorter for some consumers. Consumers can then continue to use natural deodorant every day to neutralize the smell of daily body odor.

Clay Pomade

Finally, the 4-ingredient Clay Pomade provides all-day hold and adds thickness, texture and volume to the hair. The Clay provides a workable feel with a matte finish, zero greasiness or crunchiness, and is humidity- and sweat-resistant. This product is designed to not only style hair, but also provide nourishing antioxidants that stimulate hair growth and fight dandruff and an itchy scalp.
