Patent Pick: True Colors, Revealed

Consumers love (and demand) tangible effects from their cosmetics and personal care products. Cleansing, covering and repairing are among the basics; but over-achieving marketers strive to differentiate themselves by adding a special effects flair to grab consumer interest.

Take, for example, the recent roll-out of iridiscent gels, holographic pigments, feel-good/wellness skin care and warming materials. These experiences connect consumers with products, garnering an emotional response and in many ways encouraging repeat purchases.

In relation, AmorePacific inventors recently applied for a patent on an invention that performs an interesting color trick. Whether it's used for entertainment or practical purposes, this concept aligns with the global move to engage consumers in experiental marketing.
