Silab Combats Oily Skin with Dog Rose Active

Oily skin has met its match with Silab’s new dog rose extract, which will be launched at in-cosmetics 2015 in Barcelona. Sebocytine (INCI: Water (aqua) (and) Butylene Glycol (and) Rosa Canina Fruit Extract) is a sebum-regulating active ingredient rich in wild rose berry flavonoids that improves the comfort of Caucasian and Asian skin.

The extract reduces sebocyte differentiation, which slows the rate of sebum secretion and reduces the surface of pores. These actions limit skin shininess and imperfections for an anti-oily skin effect.

In 2D and 3D models cultivated with human sebocytes, the extract was shown to limit the differentiation and lipogenesis, thus reducing sebum secretion. Tested on a panel of male and female volunteers, it was found to normalize sebum production, tighten pores and control shine on the skin.

Skin is purified and freed from imperfections, restoring both comfort and beauty. The extract is recommended in all matifying and anti-blemish skin care to improve comfort for combination to oily skin types. It is compliant with Europe, USA, Japan and China cosmetic regulations.
