Professional-grade LED light therapy company LightStim announced the launch of LightStim for Wrinkles and LightStim for Acne, two redesigned handheld devices for at-home use. These FDA-cleared devices bring clinical LED technology into a cordless format for portability and ease.
According to the company’s press release, the handheld devices were designed with a flat, high transparency biocompatible lens and ergonomic handle for at-home use. Further, the flat lens helps position the LEDs close to the skin for a more effective treatment.
LightStim for Wrinkles is the first LED device to receive FDA clearance for the treatment of full-face wrinkles. The device operates across four wavelengths to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles: amber (605 nm), light red (640 nm), dark red (652 nm) and infrared (850 nm). Clinical results demonstrated significant wrinkle improvement in all participants and 92% reported post-trial improvement.
LightStim for Acne is cleared for the treatment of mild to moderate inflammatory acne across two wavelengths: blue (417 nm) and red (640 nm). Clinical results from the company showed visible improvement in acne in all participants.
