[podcast] Redistributing C. acnes for Gentle Acne Care

Anti-acne-Dendriclear-Lucas_Meyer_Podcast_850X425

By destabilizing only acneic C. acnes strains, Lucas Meyer Cosmetics has found it possible to rebalance the phylotype distribution of the skin microbiome for anti-acne care that is milder to skin.

As Magali Borel (pictured left), product line manager for the company, explained in this sponsored interview, Dendriclear (INCI: Glycerin (and) Water (Aqua) (and) Polylysine) is a dendrimer-based ingredient made of naturally derived lysine amino acids and obtained by green chemistry. It selectively weakens acneic subspecies of C. acnes by decreasing membrane fluidity and the biofilm to favor the growth of non-acneic strains, thus recovering 'acnebiome' homeostasis. The ingredient also reduces bacterial aggression, the inflammatory response and hyperkeratinization, resulting in a healthier skin profile including decreased sebum production and erased blemishes and lesions. It selectively weakens acneic subspecies of C. acnes by decreasing membrane fluidity and the biofilm to favor the growth of non-acneic strains, thus recovering "acnebiome" homeostasis. The ingredient also reduces bacterial aggression, the inflammatory response and hyperkeratinization, resulting in a healthier skin profile including decreased sebum production and erased blemishes and lesions.

Furthermore, the ingredient is China-compliant, eco-friendly, preservative-free and vegan compatible. Listen to the free podcast to learn more.
