Belle Aire Creations (BAC) is expanding its fine fragrance capabilities with the opening of The BAC Studio, a new 800-square-foot creative studio at the company’s global headquarters and Creative Center of Excellence in Libertyville, Illinois. Officially unveiled September 16, 2026, the studio is designed to bring perfumery, consumer insights, sourcing and design into a single development process for customized fine fragrances.
The launch coincided with the company's annual sensory inspiration day, which featured the theme of "Camp." More on that in a moment.
“The BAC Studio is a true pillar of growth for the future of Belle Aire Creations,” said Stacey David, CEO of Belle Aire Creations. Belle Aire Creations

Rather than treating fragrance as a standalone product-development exercise, The BAC Studio positions fine fragrance as part of a broader brand-building process. Projects begin with an assessment of a brand’s positioning, target audience, aspirations and desired emotional impact. Belle Aire’s perfumers and fragrance development managers then use those inputs to create bespoke fragrance directions.
The process can extend into visual and physical brand expression through collaboration with the company’s design team. Its capabilities span customized fine fragrance development, brand ideation, design development, sample creation and production support, with cultural forecasting, market intelligence and Belle Aire’s Metabelle proprietary consumer research platform incorporated into the process.
The investment also places an emphasis on the physical environment. The renovated space incorporates sustainably sourced cabinetry and millwork alongside materials selected globally, including tile from Spain, countertops from Italy, handmade wall flowers from the United Kingdom and electrical components from Belgium. Approximately 20 contractors contributed to the project, with as many as nine specialized trades coordinating elements of the renovation.

“The creation of The BAC Studio required an extraordinary level of collaboration,” said Griffin Nathan, construction project management and maintenance process manager at Belle Aire Creations. “Every material, finish and architectural detail needed to work together seamlessly. The precision and partnership required to complete the space reflect the same level of care Belle Aire Creations brings to fragrance creation and customer collaboration.”

A tribute wall connects the new space to the company’s history, honoring founders Donald Conover Sr., Charles David and Richard David while recognizing current leadership. The installation traces the company’s entrepreneurial origins to its founding in 1982 and its continued expansion.

Belle Aire Creations Turns Camp Into a Multisensory Fragrance Playground
The opening of The BAC Studio builds on Belle Aire Creations’ broader emphasis on immersive sensory experiences, including its annual sensorial experience day, which this year took a “Camp” theme rooted in nostalgia and connection to nature.

As noted by Danielle McDonald, the company's senior vice president of marketing and design, the experience transformed different spaces into distinct camp-inspired environments, from a boardroom styled as a log cabin to a “Wild Atelier” focused on nature, where attendees could explore natural materials selected by the perfumery team for use across fine fragrance and home fragrance.
A “Wellness Lodge” explored calm and idle experiences, including a sound bath, while an arts-and-crafts room invited guests to create camp hats.
Cocktails were matched to individual themes, including concepts such as Forest Forage and Lavender Cloud.
The event also featured Belle Aire Creations' Scent Shaker technology, a salt-based olfactory format designed as an alternative to traditional wax melts. The natural material can accommodate high fragrance loads and provide strong release, while its versatile format can be used for scentscaping, laundry or carpet applications, or even as a sink-drain deodorizer.
Bringing together perfumery, marketing, maintenance and laboratory teams, the initiative began development in March and illustrates how Belle Aire is using multisensory environments to explore fragrance concepts, materials and applications beyond traditional formats.
