DSM has launched Beauactive (INCI: Hydroxystearic Acid), which is manufactured using green technology and helps correct noticeable facial pores and age spots that result from UVB stress. Additionally, this ingredient helps skin generate more collagen, which minimizes the appearance of facial pores.
The company’s researchers discovered in vitro, Beauactive activates the master cell regulator PPARα, which benefits skin in a variety of ways.
Ex vivo, this ingredient generated:
- Strong collagen I and III stimulation
- Prevention of UV-induced expression of MMP-1
- A delay in the production of sunburn cells and the stress marker p53, which can cause skin pigmentation
This ingredient is applicable to facial pore products and age spot corrector creams.
