During the IFSCC 2025 Congress, held Sept. 15-18, 2025, in Cannes, Cynthia Suarez, Ph.D., of Finzelberg, and Ute Wollenweber, of Care-and-Science, presented the poster, "A Cutting-Edge Transcriptomic Dive into the Beauty Benefits of Rosehip Extract."
According to the two, rosehip (Rosa canina L.) has gained attention for its natural properties and potential health benefits. This study therefore explored the impact of a standardized rosehip extract on gene expression in human keratinocytes, focusing on skin aging, hydration and barrier function.
RNAseq analysis identified 63 significantly regulated pathways (p < 0.001); those related to cell signaling, cell cycle and protein modifications were notable. In addition, the extract significantly reduced inflammatory mediators IL-6 and MMP-13.
