Biotech beauty company Debut and Brazilian multinational Natura announced a strategic partnership to commercialize a new skin longevity complex, discovered using AI. Products featuring the longevity complex are expected to be released as soon as 2027.
Natura was founded in 1969 and has pioneered the cosmetic use of bioactive ingredients from the Brazilian biodiversity. The company currently works with local families and growers to contribute to the conservation of 2.2 million hectares of forest. Natura’s portfolio includes 46 sociobiodiversity actives to deliver high-performance functional cosmetics.
According to the company’s press release, the collaboration brings together Debut’s proprietary ingredient discovery AI platform with Natura’s expertise in the Latin America market. The AI-discovered complex will feature Natura’s bioactive Amazonian botanicals to deliver performance in longevity.
“This collaboration represents a new frontier in beauty innovation where advanced science and nature work in synergy to deliver a new standard of clinically validated performance,” said Joshua Britton, founder and chief executive officer of Debut. “By combining genomics-enabled molecular design with Natura’s unique heritage in botanical actives from the Amazon, we are unlocking new possibilities for product innovation.”
This partnership marks Debut’s entry into the Latin American market, working alongside one of the region’s leading beauty companies. Further, Brazil is the largest beauty market in Latin America and one of the largest in the world. The companies hope that this partnership will position both groups at the forefront of next-generation ingredient innovation in the global beauty industry.
“At Natura, well-being has always been at our core,” said Manuel Rios Krauss, chief R&D and innovation officer at Natura. “Now, we are taking a big step forward: evolving this essence towards functional well-being, backed by science. THis collaboration is a key part of our journey into longevity. We are combining three powerful things: nature’s billions of years of wisdom, the traditional knowledge of our communities and the latest in technology and AI. We are using modern science alongside our roots to deliver real, effective results for our customers.”
