Ingredient company SILAB announced the publication of new efficacy data for its active ingredient CICATYL and its role in post-laser procedure care. The ingredient was developed to accelerate and improve the skin healing process.

According to the company’s press release, the use of a CICATYL formulation at 1% following a procedure by fractionated non-ablative laser led to a significant recovery of barrier function within 48 hours. Further, 92% of participants saw that the active ingredient significantly attenuates the cutaneous erythema following procedure. When tested on a fractionated ablative laser procedure, CICATYL provided a three-times reduction in the severity of erythema 24 hours after application.

“All these results show that CYCATYL is an effective care product, is well-tolerated and combined rapidity of action and efficacy in the care of wounded or damaged skin requiring repair,” SILAB stated in a press release.
