On September 18, 2026, Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant announced the launch of KanuFresh (INCI: Glycerin (and) Water (and) Kunzea ericoides Leaf Extract), a new active ingredient targeted at deodorants and sweat control solutions. The ingredient is sourced from Australian kānuka leaves and helps minimize visible signs of perspiration and odor.

According to the company’s press release, KanuFresh uses a multi-action mechanism to keep skin visibly dry while supporting a balanced skin environment. In vitro studies showed that the ingredient addresses both sweat and odor formation without disrupting the skin’s microbial balance. Further, clinical studies showed up to a 54% reduction in visible signs of perspiration, a 44% reduction in odor intensity and a 35% reduction in irritation.

KanuFresh is readily biodegradable and is produced using renewable energy. The ingredient is COSMOS-compliant, vegan, halal and compliant with major international cosmetics requirements.
