Treating Wrinkles with Dimethylaminoethanol, Retinol and Mineral Salts
A placebo-controlled study was conducted to determine if the appearance of wrinkles on facial skin could be improved by a combination of three cosmetic ingredients: dimethylaminoethanol, retinol and mineral salts. Both clinical assessment and video analysis of cutaneous replicas showed a significant improvement of the wrinkle appearance.

Coffea species have been widely evaluated for effects including oxidative stress protection and immunomodulation. The present study therefore evaluates the cosmetic activity of an extract obtained from cultured

stem cells. Results showed the extract imparted hydration activity in the keratinocytes, stimulated collagen synthesis in the fibroblasts and enhanced adipocyte differentiation starting from mesenchymal precursor cells.

Swellable, Nanoporous Organosilica for Extended and Triggered Release
Nanoporous organosilica particles were developed to swell upon the addition of organic solvents. These are evaluated here for encapsulating and controlling the release of fragrance. Slower, continuous release was observed, suggesting their ability to extend sensory benefits. In addition, the stimulated release of encapsulated lidocaine was studied, and results implicate their use to deliver cosmetic actives.
