Kelly Dobos has joined Sun Chemical as technical manager of cosmetics for the Americas. Prior to joining Sun Chemical, Dobos was a research scientist for Kao USA in the company's Skin Beauty Research Lab. Dobos began her career in 2001, as an associate chemist for Scot Laboratories. She joined the personal care industry with the Bonne Bell Company in 2003 as a formulation chemist and later joined GOJO Industries in 2006 as a research chemist.
In her new position, Dobos will serve as a technical focal point for both internal and external customers by providing technical expertise in relation to product performance, regulations, and formulation.
Dobos obtained her master's degree in pharmaceutical science with a concentration in cosmetic science from the University of Cincinnati's James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy, where she currently serves as an advisory board member. She has authored a number of articles for Cosmetics & Toiletries, on subjects such as sunless tanners and skin microflora. She is an active member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC), serving as the Area II Director from 2011-2013. She is the recipient of the 2007 SCC Young Scientist Award and was also included in the Crains Cleveland Business Twenty in Their 20s.
