Cosmetic ingredient company Actives International announced the appointment of Michelle Carrillo as chief executive officer, effective May 1. Carrillo brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in the beauty and personal care industry, and she plans to lead the company through its next phase of growth.
“We are entering an exciting period of transformation in the beauty and personal care industry,” said Carrillo. “Consumers increasingly expect products that are backed by science, responsibly sourced and designed to deliver meaningful results. Actives International is uniquely positioned to help brands meet those expectations through our expertise in fermentation, natural products chemistry and ingredient innovation. Our goal is to help customers solve formulation challenges and create differentiated products that are effective, sustainable and aligned with evolving consumer needs. I look forward to building on the company’s strong foundation of scientific excellence and customer partnership as we unlock new opportunities for growth.”
Looking ahead, Actives International plans to continue to invest in bio-fermentation, including its ViaFerm line of proprietary fermented ingredients that address key opportunities in skin health, scalp wellness, barrier repair, sensitive skin and healthy aging. Further, the company’s growth strategy centers on its Thoughtful Science philosophy, reflecting the belief that ingredient innovation must not only deliver performance but also meet consumer expectations for safety, transparency, sustainability and global regulatory acceptance.
“I am very proud to have Michelle on board as she leads us into the next chapter of our company’s efforts to deliver effective ingredients focusing on consumer needs,” said founder and president Jon Anderson.
