UK-based cosmetics company Dr Mom Hand announced the launch of its proprietary Phyto-Resonance extraction system. This system uses bio-acoustic resonance matching technology for selection, non-thermal extraction of botanicals.

According to the company’s press release, Phyto-Resonance identifies the unique resonant frequency of target plant cell membranes and delivers precisely tuned energy waves to open oil-bearing cells. The resulting extracts retain 96% of bioactive compounds, and the oil-bearing vacuoles are fully evacuated without damaging the structural cellulose matrix.

“Every extraction technology before ours forced an unforgiving choice: degrade molecules with heat or contaminate them with harsh solvents,” said Ibrahim Hilmi Selcan Ilbiz, inventor of Phyto-Resonance. “We release live bioactives gently without burning, pressing or chemical contamination. We don’t just extract – we liberate.”

Phyto-Resonance can be used in several applications, including the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries. The company’s goals are to create premium cosmetic-grade botanical extracts and full-profile essential oils and natural aromas.

The company has submitted a patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the method, apparatus and adaptive frequency-locking system. The technology is already being used in Dr Mom Hand’s premium nectar collection, facial creams and body care products. Further, Phyto-Resonance addresses eight of the twelve Principles of Green Chemistry.

According to Dr Mom Hand’s internal analytical studies, Phyto-Resonance provides extraction yields of 8-12% (compared to 0.02-5% for thermal methods), energy reduction of up to 80% and a complete elimination of organic solvents.
