The entries for this year’s awards span several categories of beauty innovation, including cosmetic ingredients and blends, prototype and finished formulas, digital technologies and more. The finalists are a showcase of the cutting edge of the beauty industry, demonstrating where the field will go next.
Following, we’ve combined the judges’ comments and highlights for each finalist of the 2026 Allē Awards.

Pickmulse, Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant: This is a clean, quinoa-based technology and I see it as a novel approach. It is powder-based, which gives it an advantage.
Zenakine, Croda Beauty: Interesting innovation aligned with the newer holistic beauty focus. Nicely ties into the sleep-beauty connection and emotive beauty.
Base Ingredient: Anti-aging and Skin Care
Azafran Vaniluxe SB 62, Azafran Innovacion Ltd.: This ingredient can be a nice alternative to petroleum-based waxes.
EcoFlexy Rheo, Cellugy: Clean, micro-plastic free solution that is good for the environment and humans. A novel rheology modifier with broad industry applications.
EZLite-SF, Sunjin Beauty Science: This is a very innovative product in terms of fermentation of an oil to create a faster penetrating emollient carrier. This brings a new tool in formulating oil-based cleansers and fast-penetrating oils with hydrophobic actives.
Mindera, Symrise A.G.: The product group combines a very broad range of functionality for use in different types of products, ranging from cleansers to serums to moisturizers.
Natrineo CR8, Croda Beauty: This ingredient appears to be an interesting emulsifier. Most interesting aspect was the ability to boost SPF value of a simple mineral sunscreen.
Peauvita, Core Biogenesis: This ingredient is a new way to deliver growth factors to the skin. It has excellent bioactivity and in clinical studies it performed equal to or better than retinol.
Plantasens Emulsifier HP 49, Clariant: It solves the problem of delivering a stearic acid oil for product feel. Nice that it provides moisturization and strengthens barrier function.
Sunsil-LUX150H, Sunjin Beauty Science: This is a very simple yet elegant solution to having an alternative to microplastics. The material is clearly clean with comparable efficacy to microplastics.
Base Ingredient: Color Cosmetics and Sun Protection
Aristoflex Sun, Clariant: This is an interesting addition to the Aristoflex polymer family with a specific sun care focus. Aesthetics are essential to consumer acceptance and consistent use of sunscreens, so there is certainly value in this new polymer.
Eastman Esmeri CC1N10, Eastman Chemical Company: Overall, this stands out by combining environmental mindfulness with high-performance optical and tactile benefits, which will help formulators create sustainable products that don’t compromise on consumer-desired attributes like wear, coverage and finish.
Harmonie NatuVel Gel, Momentive: Harmonie NatuVel Gel can deliver high-performance attributes like optical blurring, refined skin feel [and] oil control, making it a valuable addition for formulators aiming to combine clean beauty with premium sensory results.

Dexcare CD-2 Polymer, Dow Chemical Company: The data supporting its capabilities is very rich and shows benefits with both rinse-off and leave-on applications for hair.
Elevance Elite Bio65, Advancion: I feel this is a needed ingredient within the cosmetics industry. Bravo for introducing a competitive raw material.
Elevance Ultra, Advancion: Bringing strong sustainability credentials and wide applications in cosmetics, Elevance Ultra is an ingredient that will help drive sustainability in products and in supply chains for product manufacturers for the intended uses.
Natursol EMI Rev, SNF Personal Care: The cold process capability is definitely interesting and saves on energy usage during formulation.
Purelift Dry Scalp Refresher 2.0, Presperse: As a prototype formula, this is pretty cool!
Rheance D50, Evonik: It is truly an innovation when it comes to surfactant systems and I loved the mildness data emphasizing how gentle it is. The foam is competitive with SLS, which has been extremely hard to achieve with non-sulfated systems.

Bioactive Totarol, Hyperganic Biogroup: Its sustainable sourcing via patented extraction exemplifies high-performance circularity without compromising on clinical results. This patent combination of mulit-functional skin benefits and environmental responsibility offers the industry an alternative for modern breakout-prone skincare.
iVC MGA, Seiwa Kasei Co., Ltd.: Sophisticated, patented Vitamin C-derivative that offers a targeted solution for pore care by combining sebum regulation with potent anti-bacterial and lipase-inhibatory properties. Its unique stability and multi-pathway approach to oily skin concerns represent a technical advancement over traditional Vitamin C forms.
Pureblome by Triplobiome Technology, Provital: By utilizing technology to deliver triple-efficacy across inflammation, sebum control and anti-aging, it offers a holistic and regenerative approach to the adult acne market. This innovative post-biotic ingredient represents an advancement in harmonizing skin health.
Sulfur 10% Powder-to-Cream Concentrate (The Ordinary), DECIEM: By combining this high-speed efficacy with a novel sensory experience, the product provides a modern evolution of a classic dermatological ingredient.

Angel-Eye EFX, Vantage Specialty Chemicals: While the underlying biology is evolutionary rather than disruptive, the ingredient is highly usable, credible and well-positioned for brands seeking dependable performance in the eye-care category.
Bacillus Lysate, Delavie Sciences: This entry offers highly unique products originating from an extremophile microorganism capable of surviving the harsh conditions of space. EcoPep, Oat Cosmetics: The efficacy studies look solid. They include strong in vitro results in finished formulation with placebo comparisons that make the findings feel credible. The oat-derived peptide also has great marketing potential.
Ilumys, Greentech: I’m impressed by the clinical results, especially the in vivo data – the outcomes are compelling and well-presented.
Kaligen, Kalichem: The efficacy data is broad and demonstrates several different mechanisms of action. The safety data is also broad and strong, covering irritation or mutagenicity, which is unique in this group.
LunaRose, Mibelle Biochemistry: The data presented shows strong efficacy, and the comparisons against melatonin as well as the insights on mitochondrial effects are particularly compelling.
TensylPro, Biocogent: Stimulation of collagen gene expression and simultaneous oxidative stress reduction with a purely plant-based [ingredient] is novel. Good methodical approach to substantiate multi-functional efficacy.
Vitaguard A, BASF: I enjoyed the data on this innovative delivery concept with the solid-lipid retinol encapsulation, and the stability and benefits make the technology feel genuinely advanced.
Cosmetic Active: Bath/Body, Wellness, Nutricosmetics
Lumenato, Lycored: Sourcing a new supplement active ingredient directly from a common and safe food source is always an exciting opportunity. The solvent-free extraction process also reinforces a sustainable focus.
PrimaColl, Geltor: Innovative from an FDA-clearance perspective with broad category applications. I like their sustainability positioning and efficacy as well.
Rice Bran Ferment, Ichimaru Pharcos Co., Ltd.: I appreciate the strong focus on sustainability in the design of this product, specifically the ability to use what would otherwise be non-viable material.
YouSIA, TS-Biotech: Innovative ingredient, targeting a niche segment of the market.
Cosmetic Active: Hair/Scalp Treatments
Adesilnat, Exsymol: The combination of these two known materials for a synergistic benefit on hair growth is new and interesting with unexpected cellular benefits demonstrated. What is nice is the diversity of effects for this combo for hair and scalp/skin, which could be useful in this crowded segment of the market.
BLH308 Botanical Complex, Bomme Corporation: A complex active mix based on known health properties of persimmon leaf extract presented for scalp use with a focus on hair shedding, particularly due to androgen mediated hair loss.
DandErase, Givaudan Active Beauty: A new anti-dandruff “interabiome” active mixture shown to lower Malassezia growth as well as improved overall scalp health made from an upcycled, sustainable plant source. Good to see a microbiome balancing approach being used for materials selection and efficacy.
Eterwell Hair, dsm-firmenich: Supported by pre-clinical studies that are focused on senescence biology and clinical data showing efficacy. Evidence of an improvement in hair inductivity would be a logical next step.
KeraBio K31, Croda Beauty: Kerabio K31 development pathway ensured optimal hair keratin binding activity, producing much better outcomes in testing than the benchmark. It also represents the first of its kind as an ingredient, so it has wider applicability within the industry.
Polymeric Malassezia Inhibitor, Beauty Hi-Tech Innovation Co., Ltd.: Polymeric active is a very interesting concept for a rinse-off product.
Purakan, Mane Kancor: Deliberate use of upcycled ingredients from a local waste stream contributes to environmental credentials, as does the support to growers. The efficacy from a shampoo suggests parity with a ZPT benchmark in vitro and in vivo.
SymLash Xtreme, Symrise AG: This represents a novel mix of a myristoylated peptide and a flavonoid, both with existing efficacy as cosmetic ingredients relevant to lash growth. Nice to see both in vitro and in vivo data.
TRI-K DensiFoll, TRI-K: Both common mallow and hydrolysed rice protein are known for cosmetic benefits. Combining them together is new and the strong efficacy data suggests action at a molecular and protective level for root, hair and scalp health benefits.

100% Fermented Rose Hip Seed Oil (The Ordinary), DECIEM: This new source of rosehip oil, produced through a biotechnological process, should meet many industry demands as well as reduce its cost.
Activated Silk KDF-β, Evolved By Nature: This entry shows high efficacy by targeting the promotion of epidermal cell differentiation, a well-established and reliable mechanism, with clearly defined molecular actions that ultimately enhance the skin’s baseline condition.
Bioactive Totarol, Hyperganic Biogroup: The results for acne reduction, inhibition of microbial growth and antioxidant activity are very interesting. Additionally, it also works to improve skin tone and reduce wrinkles.
BioEssence K2 MK-7, Sino Lion USA: As care for dark spots around the eye area is in high demand, this entry is attractive to consumers by incorporating proven ingredients produced via a green process, while also demonstrating practical efficacy and utility.
Ferulishield Hemp, Midwest Bioprocessing Center: The novelty of this ingredient lies in improving the formulation characteristics of ferulic acid by enhancing solubility, skin penetration and photostability while delivering natural, biodegradable SPF-boosting effects.
Galguard Prebiotive, Galaxy Surfactants Ltd.: This entry offers an attractive product based on a green chemistry-derived active ingredient that functions as a highly specific prebiotic, showing anti-bacterial activity across a broad pH range and supporting a balanced skin microbiome.

Such approaches have the capacity to influence industry innovation.

Laboré BiomeProtect Acne & Oil Correct Physical Sunscreen SPF 50 PA++++, PT Paragon Technology and Innovation: This is a very interesting proposition – the use of the bacillus lysate is very novel. The acne/skin improvement data seems compelling.
Tavi Cica RES-Q10 Water Break Sun Shield SPF 50 PA++++, PT Paragon Technology and Innovation: Good documentation to support all the relevant fields. Also a plus that sustainability is indicated to go beyond ingredients and packaging.
Wardah Active Protection Sunscreen Serum, Paragon Technology & Innovation: The product does seem to be rated well by test respondents for usage under makeup, longevity and feel. Sustainability initiatives are commendable along with broader social initiatives undertaken by the company.
Wardah Moist Dew Tint, Paragon Technology and Innovation: Appears to be an effective product to address skin moisturization, especially for younger women. The application tool appears to be a big part of the novelty allowing for even comfortable coverage.

Kahf Bright Revitalizing AminoGel Face Wash, Paragon Technology and Innovation: The combination of Vitamin C derivative, gluconolactone and hydration-focused humectants adds real brightening and barrier-support potential rather than just a basic foaming watch, and the clinical data on dark-spot reduction within seven days supports that positioning.
Laboré LactoNADB3 Multi-Pigmentation Brightening Serum, PT Paragon Technology and Innovation: It scores highly for intelligently stacking multiple proven brighteners with strong hydration in a single serum that targets several pigment types, including melasma, and is positioned as safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Wardah Firm & Lift Essence Toner, Paragon Technology & Innovation: This toner earns its score by bringing proven peptide technology, barrier support and uplifting “non-invasive” positioning into an accessible format that normalizes pre-juvenation for a broader market.
Wardah Plump & Firm Gel Moisturizer, Paragon Technology & Innovation: Recombinant collagen use in the product is quite of interest, and the efficacy was conducted in human volunteers as per the safety.

Intimate 3-in-1 Lubrication of Water, Bruxa Pty Ltd.: This product received its score because it treats intimate care with the same level of formulation sophistication usually reserved for luxury facial skincare.
Ivapur Aknebiome Serum, Ivatherm: In theory, a good selection of ingredients to address the target skin concern.
Finished Prestige Formula: Anti-aging
ABC De In+ense Cream, Labrains SIA: This is a 100% biodegradable formula with a very unique claim: biomimetic ketogenic skin fasting. Safety, preservation and stability were substantiated.
Longeva, Ayuna: The epidermal fasting is an interesting approach to develop an ampoule for skincare treatment. This formulation is a relevant step to include into the routine for care.
Longitivity Regenerative, Protecting Safe Night Serum Crème, Innovantase R&D Services LLP: I believe this is the first formula to use this combination of two strong bioactives to achieve results better than retinol alone. The clinical study showed significant improvements in wrinkle reduction, barrier strength, skin tone and elasticity.
Nectar – Neuroglow, Ayuna: Radiance and emotional perception is an innovative approach and important aspect to the consumer. It is a good proposal and differentiated formula.

Erhair Lashbooster Multi-Peptide Lash & Brow Serum, Genero Pharmaceuticals: The multi-peptide approach is interesting here as it’s not using traditional lash growth actives. It also scored pretty highly for consumer perception, which is reassuring.
NAMA Comforting Shampoo for Dry & Sensitive Skin, Nama Cosmetics: I like that the clinical approach mirrors more of a skincare approach with a focus on TEWL, redness reduction and barrier support. That is not typical for hair care.

Kizen 3-in-1 Complete Facial Moisturizer, Suntory Wellness America: I appreciated that research and consideration was given to efficacy and functionality of the formula itself as well as the emotional/psychological benefits of incorporation of a skincare routine into these individuals’ lives.
Nectar Lip & Eye, Ayuna: The opportunity of a product designed specifically for the fragile, delicate facial skin areas is a novel idea. The formula looks to utilize multiple ingredients which themselves are well tested with data.
RAD Shield Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30, Environ: By prioritizing daily compliance and synergy with active ingredients, this product provides a stable and efficacious solution for long-term skin protection and safety.

HEVen Light Shield, Esencias Moles S.A. (EMSA): By establishing a new functional axis for scents, this innovation provides the industry with a unique tool to merge the luxury of fine fragrance with essential modern skin-defense needs.
Isolan DisperPlus, Evonik: This is an innovation in natural W/O emulsifiers delivering silicone-level aesthetics with exceptional pigment handling for color cosmetics.
LexFeel SunLight MB, Inolex: This advancement is highly significant for the market, as it successfully bridges the gap between high-performance, natural UV protection and the silky, fast-spreading sensory experience that consumers demand.

369Lab Lipid Bond, Moonshot Biotech Pte. Ltd. Singapore: The efficacy in fiber penetration, surface cuticle smoothing and fiber break strength, all in bleach-damaged hair, suggest this is a novel solution for restoring damaged hair, which is a major consumer need.
AC Curezyme, Active Concepts and Curie Co.: Seems to go well with the trend of bond building and improving sustainability of hair actives, and I like that it is a relatively new INCI.
Ingredient Blend: Skin Care
Citrolatum P, P2 Science: Interesting and valuable chemistry, especially with essential fatty acids to help recomplement the lipidic components of the skin barrier, with the potential to deliver more benefits to the skin than just occlusivity.
