Pilot Chemical Adds Sulfate-free Surfactant Blend to Offering

Pilot Chemical has launched a new sulfate-free surfactant blend. CalBlend SF (INCI: Sodium C_14-16 Olefin Sulfonate (and) Cocamidopropyl Betaine (and) Cocamide MIPA) offers excellent viscosity building performance through the economical application of salt additives, great foaming characteristics and is free of dioxane and solvents.

It joins the CalBlend line of eco-friendly, DEA-free blends for personal care. Formulated to enhance shampoo, body wash and liquid hand soap, this biodegradable blend of high performance surfactants produces a mild formulation with a deep cleansing lather and soft after feel.

This blend specifically delivers flexibility to formulators, with suggested use levels ranging between 20-50%, while providing the lower inventory and rework reductions normally associated with blends. This complete surfactant blend is free of Proposition 65 listed substances, has cold mix capability and is compatible with conditioning and hydrating agents.

While some (if not many) of these allegations may be unfounded or misguided, it underscores the critical role of safety and toxicity testing even under non-typical product use conditions.
