Sonneborn will "smooth things over" during in-cosmetics North America with the launch of its Shea XP (INCI: Petrolatum USP (and) Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter) emollient for skin care.
According to the company, the product is a shea-functionalized petrolatum made with AAK's shea technology and Sonneborn’s specialized petrolatum. According to the company, the synergistic nature of the duo provides a new active base emollient with highly protective, bio-improvement benefits. For example, it delivers the trusted protection of petrolatum with the known functionality of shea triterpenes, including: anti-inflammatory activity, collagen production and increased epidermal thickness.
This technology is designed to deliver active base emollient performance in a rheologically pure system for superior performance in a wide range of markets and applications.
