Omya has its sights set on a new generation of beneficial ingredients, from versatile and sensory-boosting minerals to visual effects. The supplier plans to display these ingredients at in-cosmetics Global this spring.

The supplier’s lineup is set to include:

Cosmospheres—Debuting at in-cosmetics Global, these cellulose-based additives reportedly provide visual effects along with carrier functions to help fulfill marketing claims while delivering functional ingredients.

Omyaskin—These particles have a porous structure to absorb sebum, reduce product drying time and create a matte finish for color applications. Along with influencing the end product’s smoothness and skin feel, they can replace talc and kaolin while supporting the performance of titanium dioxide.

Omyacare—A high-purity calcium carbonate, these multifunctional minerals provide body and a smooth texture to applications such as body lotions, scrubs and decorative cosmetics. The particles may also be used as a microplastic alternative.

“More than 130 years of expertise in the treatment of natural minerals and a strong commitment to R&D enables Omya to create tailor-made ingredient solutions suited for holistic products,” commented Stefan Lander, vice president, Consumer Goods, Group Sales & Marketing, Omya, in a press release.

Omya also plans to highlight its distribution portfolio with its colorant, texturizer and other specialties at the event. The supplier can be visited at stand F108 at in-cosmetics Global, to be held from April 2-4, 2019, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
