Glossier's Zit Stick

Glossier wants consumers to take their acne care outside the house—its Zit Stick was designed to be used out and about, and features a translucent finish (unlike many overnight formulations) with antimicrobial packaging.

The hypoallergenic spot treatment runs on benzoyl peroxide at 5%, which targets bacteria while working to reduce blemish size, swelling and redness. Other ingredients include capryloyl salicylic acid, which is gentler than traditional salicylic acid; tea tree oil, meant to help heal skin; and cucumber extract.

In a clinical trial, 83% of Zit Stick users reported a reduction in blemish size after three hours, while 4 in 5 users said that "swelling was eliminated and pimples healed faster than normal." The product is meant to be used up to three times daily after the first sign of acne.

The portable pen contains a reportedly antimicrobial stainless steel rollerball. It features Glossier's signature millennial pink, with a fun twist in its web listing: Upon visiting the page, users are able to clear up a translucent red veil with a cursor shaped like the Zit Stick's cap—just like the product claims to.
