Nourishment has made its way across nearly every beauty category. Skin and hair care are perhaps the most prominent but earlier this year, referencing makeup, Vogue also described how the "minimalist trend is getting a nourishing upgrade" with the emergence of skin care/makeup hybrids.
Another example of this dare-we-say foodification of beauty is in the body wash sector. This week, Nivea's Nourishing Care Body Wash with Nourishing Serum provides an example.

User Reviews: Nivea Nourishing Care Body Wash with Nourishing Serum
Following are example user reviews (edited for style), selected for their anecdotal insights on product form and function.
- [The body was makes you] feel so fresh and so clean, it’s comparable to most body cream washes but it smells amazing and it’s refreshing and relaxing.
- It keeps my body hydrated and nourished.
- Leaves skin super soft and smooth. No need to use lotion after your shower. Smells great too; definitely recommend. I use it daily and it’s a big plus.
- Made my skin more softer. It has a good smell and good consistency.
- Consistency is pretty thick and creamy, which is nice, but it doesn’t lather as well as other body washes. I need about three pumps in a body scrubber for a wash.
- I like the texture and it doesn’t leave my skin dry or any weird films. Very gentle and safe on sensitive skin.
- It’s like bathing in butter. So smooth and really does feel nourishing.
- This product is too thick and does not lather; it feels as if you are smearing on lotion during your shower. ... The "wash" is so thick I needed two hands to squeeze some out - and then there was zero lather.
(Editor's note: We thought these users' perceptions of spreading and viscosity were important formulating considerations; although the feedback is only from two reviewers).
