Perspiration is the human body's way of controlling body temperature and occurs throughout the body. The majority of antiperspirants and deodorants in the marketplace have traditionally focused on managing odor and/or perspiration in the underarm. However, the underarm is oonly one of three main regions of the body that produce odor (the other two being the groin area and the feet).
It is a physiological fact that men sweat at a heavier rate in multiple locations other than the underarm. A published study in the 1950s showed that the right and left (R/L) axillae have a lower sweat rate than the mid-upper chest, R/L temple, upper chest and the mid-upper back (Table 1).
