Bell Names Top 10 Fragrances for 2012

Bell Flavors & Fragrances has announced its Top Ten Fragrances for 2012. These fragrance trends can serve the cosmetic formulator as inspiration for product development or as a guide for future fragrance selection.

The top fragrances were selected through three different processes of analysis: tracking samples that have been requested over a 12-month period, trend scouting by its internal marketing and R&D departments worldwide and tracking trends through external databases. Trend scouting and tracking was focused around Wild Luxury research that is based on exploring different consumer markets.

Bell’s worldwide marketing teams have been exploring different avenues to uncover notes that will captivate next generation fragrance development. These notes have been defined by product launches, industry regulations, world events and unique new preference for the indulgent consumer. According to the company, these ten notes will influence the fragrance development of products designed for 2012 and will continue to drive discovery for many years to come.

The theme for this year’s Top Ten Fragrances list is “The Wild Luxury Consumer.” Counterintuitive to worldwide financial woes, wild luxury consumers are seeking out more exquisite haute couture items than ever. Haute couture fashion houses are banking that their customers will answer the call of the Wild Luxury. It will be no exception when it comes to fine fragrances.
