On June 17, 2026, Inolex announced the launch of LexFeel Enhance MB, a novel technology designed to help formulators incorporate newly approved bemotrizinol. The new technology’s polymer network was created with organic UV filters in mind and creates more thermodynamically stable UV filter systems.
This announcement follows the recent FDA approval of bemotrizinol as a sunscreen ingredient in the United States. This ingredient has been used in sunscreens in Europe, Asia and Australia for more than two decades. Inolex hopes that LexFeel Enhance MB will help formulators get used to the ingredient and develop products with better stability and a more elegant feel.
“Inolex is excited to offer a new ingredient that enhances the SPF and delivers a sensory experience that encourages consumers to apply and reapply,” said president Art Knox.
According to Inolex’s in-vivo testing, LexFeel Enhance MB demonstrated the potential to achieve SPF 50 performance and showed a 25-30% increase in SPF in evaluated UV filter systems. Further, the company’s tests indicate that only 5% of the ingredient is needed to solubilize 6% of bemotrizinol for up to 12 weeks in sunscreen formulations.
“Aesthetics, not protection, remain consumers’ biggest complaint about sunscreen,” the company’s press release states. “LexFeel Enhance MB gives formulators a way to deliver the protection consumers need in a form that they actually enjoy wearing. Unlike traditional solubilizers, it also improves how a sunscreen feels.”
