BASF has launched Euperlan NL Pearl (INCI: Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (and) Cocamidopropyl Betaine (and) Glyceryl Oleate), a wax-based, COSMOS compliant pearlizer for personal care products.
Euperlan NL Pearl offers opacifying and pearlizing effects without using pigments. It has quality attributes in hair care applications, as demonstrated in wet and dry combing tests, anti-hair breakage measurements and suppleness tests.

The ingredient is biodegradable and suitable for ethylene oxide-free and sulfate surfactant-free solutions. It is cold processable and can be formulated in shampoos, body washes, shower gels and more, allowing a natural origin content of up to 99%, according to ISO 16128.
