Four MegaNatural Grape Extract products have received authorization to use the NSF certification marks to certifying their nutraceutical quality. NSF International is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization, and is a leader in standards development, product certification, and risk management for public health and safety. The products: MegaNatural GSKE Grape Pomace Extract; MegaNatural GSKE-40 Grape Pomace Extract; MegaNatural Gold Grape Seed Extract; and MegaNatural Rubired Grape Juice Extract, are manufactured and marketed by Polyphenolics.

For dietary supplements such as MegaNatural, this evaluation includes:
-Verifying manufacturing consistency and accuracy
-Verifying the identity and quantity of the ingredients declared on the product label
-Ensuring that the product does not contain undeclared ingredients or unacceptable levels of contaminants, and
-Ensuring that the manufacturer is conforming with currently recommended industry good manufacturing practices.

A high quality grape seed extract reportedly is a pure source of phenols and tannins. Research continues to reveal the health benefits of these compounds. For example, damage to blood fat (the “bad” LDL cholesterol) due to oxidation may lead to cardiovascular disease, including hardening of the arteries. A study conducted at the University of California, Davis, reportedly concluded that the phenols’ potent antioxidant properties help protect against LDL oxidation, keeping arterial linings healthy. Additional studies lend credence to phenols’ ability to improve circulation, and decrease the fragility of veins and capillary walls.
