Skin and Skin Care
Atopic dermatitis: Loden et al. have published a very interesting paper on the instrumental and dermatologist evalution of the effect of glycerin and urea on dry skin in atopic dermatitis. Moisturizing preparations are useful treatment adjuncts in dermatitis and have beneficial effects in the treatment of dry, scaly skin. However, Loden states that although clinical experience suggests an important role for moisturizers, more scientific studies are considered to be essential to demonstrate possible differences in mechanism and effect.
