Abstract: Lipotec had its first COSMOS approval for not just one, but two ingredients. The standard tells consumers the ingredients are certified organic and natural and are trustworthy for cosmetics, in addition to having clearance for safety within the industry and the environment.

Lipotec’s Antarcticine marine ingredient (INCI: Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract (and) Water (aqua)) with SA and Matmarine blue ingredient (INCI: Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract) have been evaluated as compliant to COSMOS standard.

Both the sustainable ingredients stem from Biointec blue technology brand, which consists of natural molecules holding cosmetic benefits.

Antarcticine marine ingredient helps protect and renew skin exposed to frigid temperatures, while also reducing wrinkles to help firm skin. After applying a cream at 1% to the face and exposing it to cold weather every hour throughout a 15-day period, an in vivo test showed a 13.5% increase in moisturization. After 30 days, results showed a reduction in wrinkle depth and volume by 10.6% and 9.3%.

Matmarine blue ingredient decreases sebum levels, which reduces skin shine, the appearance of pores and active follicles. In vivo, a BB cream containing 2% of the ingredient resulted in a 28.3% skin gloss reduction right away.
