The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. announced that Gregory Polcer has joined the company as executive vice president-global supply chain. Polcer will oversee the company's end-to-end supply chain—which includes procurement, manufacturing, quality assurance and logistics operations.

"Greg's unique combination of supply chain, finance and category management experience will be invaluable as we increase efficiencies and enhance our operating effectiveness," said Fabrizio Freda, president and COO. "I am confident that Greg will be a key contributor in improving our global processes to help the company execute its long-term strategy to deliver sustained, profitable growth."

Polcer was senior vice president of supply chain at Unilever, where he led the development of a corporate-wide initiative for defining the processes—as well as the project plan to create a center-led procurement capability for the company. Prior to that, he worked for Playtex Inc. and J.C. Penney in various business roles.

"I am delighted to join The Estée Lauder Companies with its outstanding reputation, global leadership position and strong brands," said Polcer. "I look forward to working closely with William Lauder, Fabrizio Freda and the leadership team to play a role in fostering greater integration, driving down inventories and improving efficiency across the company's global supply chain capabilities."

Polcer succeeds Malcolm Bond, who will begin his transition into retirement in the near future. Bond will be working closely with Polcer in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.
