
Ichimaru Pharcos Co., Ltd., recently announced its innovative natural active, Proteoglycan IPC, was awarded the 2025 BSB Innovation Award in the Environment/Raw Materials Active category. The ingredient was specifically recognized for skin repair, collagen density and skin longevity benefits.
The BSB Innovation Awards were selected through an objective and independent evaluation process. The 2025 award announcements for the Environment and Applied Concepts/Ideas categories were made online in September 2025.
Upcycled Natural Active
Ichimaru Pharcos is committed to developing innovative, sustainable and upcycled natural cosmetic ingredients. Proteoglycan IPC exemplifies such, as it is upcycled from discarded salmon nasal cartilage into a high-purity, eco-friendly active ingredient.
Through a collaborative research project with Hirosaki University and Kakuhiro Co., Ltd., Ichimaru Pharcos successfully developed a technology to extract high-purity proteoglycan, resulting in the commercialization of Proteoglycan IPC (INCI: Soluble Proteoglycan).
