On June 2, 2026, Evonik announced the opening of its new Asia Beauty Science & Innovation Center at the company’s Shanghai Innovation park in China. The new center integrates biotechnology-driven ingredient innovation and formulation expertise with consumer-relevant testing and validation capabilities.

With our new center in Shanghai, we complement our leading global position, extensive expertise and broad portfolio, while deepening our presence in a market that is setting the pace for many global beauty brands.”
According to the company’s press release, the Asia Beauty Science & Innovation Center will support beauty and personal care brands in China and throughout Asia with diversified, collaborative development models. Further, the center will house several complementary facilities, including the Asia RD&I platform, the Asia Personal Care Applied Innovation Lab, the Chinese lab of the Evonik Skin Institute and the Customer Experience Center.
“This new center brings together multiple innovation capabilities in one place,” said Fuliang Xia, president of Evonik Greater China. “In a fast-evolving and highly competitive market like China, this integrated approach allows us to translate scientific insights into market-ready solutions with greater speed and precision.
