Omya Launches Global Specialty Materials Business Unit

Omya, a global producer of industrial minerals and a worldwide distributor of specialty chemicals, has announced the launch of a new business unit, Omya Specialty Materials. The new unit will focus on the sales and distribution of specialty materials across the globe.

Pigments, Binders, Additives and Life Science Ingredients

Headquartered in Switzerland, Omya Specialty Materials integrates a comprehensive portfolio including pigments, binders and additives, along with life science ingredients. This is combined with Omya's own extensive range of mineral-based products, creating a unified offering for customers, per the company.

The new business unit aims to provide significant added value by creating a worldwide sales network for premier suppliers. This structure establishes a one-stop shop for customers seeking technical solutions and a streamlined supply chain.

Streamlining the Supply Chain

Omya Specialty Materials will operate alongside Omya Performance Polymer Distribution, which was established in early 2025 to serve the global performance polymer market following the acquisition of Distrupol.
