L’Oréal's proposed acquisition of The Body Shop has been cleared by the European Commission. The proposal was made by L’Oréal in March 2006 and involved a reported US$1.5 billion. The commission has reported that the acquisition would not hinder cosmetic competition in Europe and would not demand higher prices for cosmetics in Europe.
