Personal Care in India on the Rise

The personal care market in India is growing, and as a result, in-cosmetics India, formerly PCHi, saw a successful turnout at its 2006 conference. The event, supported by the Indian Society of Cosmetic Chemists (ISCC) and the All India Small Scale Cosmetics Manufacturers Association (AISSCMA), is returning to Mumbai, India, on Nov. 20-21, 2007. According to its organizer, the event will feature a vast range of leading personal and home care exhibitors.

National and international industry experts will deliver extensive technical, scientific and commercial educational content tailored to the Indian market. The event will host a mix of local and international companies featuring an eclectic array of ingredients. Attendees will be provided the opportunity to discover new products and services that currently are shaping the personal and home care ingredients industry.

At the event's innovation seminars, exhibitors will showcase their latest innovations and formulations. Exhibitors will provide an in-depth look at products, techniques and real-world applications. This year's conference will include 28 seminars presented by such companies as Ajinomoto, B&T, Cognis and Dow Corning, among others.

A two-day conference will include presentations by well-known speakers from both India and around the world focusing on key scientific, regulatory, technical topics and trends currently impacting the marketplace. The first day of the conference, organized by the ISCC, will include a morning session about technology and the Indian market, followed by afternoon sessions on formulation that will feature silicones products, polymers, amino-acid based surfactants, new generation opacifiers, mild foaming agents and transformation colors.

On the second day, the conference will commence with the popular subject of skin whitening, and will address not only new actives, but also formulations that give instant lightening and skin brightening effects. Papers in this segment will include skin-lightening actives,  ceramics, new generation lighteners and more.  Antiaging and skin protection will also be covered, including subjects such as skin moisturization, collagen, neutrazen and more.
