Khaiat Awarded In-Cosmetics Lifetime Achievement Award

Alain Khaiat, PhD, was awarded the In-Cosmetics Lifetime Achievement Award on April 14, 2010 at the event's awards gala. Khaiat accepted the award proudly, as his colleagues cheered. Khaiat has been involved in the field of science for over 40 years, and even in post-retirement, he continues to contribute significantly to the cosmetics industry.

Khaiat has worked for several companies throughout his career. These include Revlon, where he coordinated all technical activities outside of the USA; Yves Rocher Cosmetics, where he was responsible for a range of key product developments; and Johnson & Johnson, where he headed over 350 staff worldwide.

Khaiat has always dedicated his time to educating and emphasizing the importance of safety within the cosmetics industry and was a founding member of several ASEAN associations. He has been credited for bringing together the Asian, American and European cosmetic markets and is considered to be a key educator in the field.

Three other individual were nominated for the award including: Karl Lintner, PhD, from Sederma; Daniel Maes, PhD; and Johann Wiechers, PhD, of JW Solutions.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was given alongside C&T magazine's International Technology Awards. Winners included Procter & Gamble Beauty and Grooming for the New Technology Award and RBT, a Syneron Company, for the New Technology Launch Award.
