New York – Last weekend, May 3-4, The Makeup Show returned to NYC May 3-4. Hosted at Metropolitan Pavilion, and sponsored by Alcone Company, Danessa Myricks Beauty, OMNIA, and ESUM Cosmetics, the event brought together more than 3,000 beauty professionals.
The in-person experience focused on inspiration, education, and community. The first 100 attendees received a free gift from K Beauty brand The Face Shop. On the show floor, more than 80 industry-leading brands including Rare Beauty, INGLOT, Blend Bunny Cosmetics, ciele Cosmetics, Pat McGrath Labs, Rokael Beauty, Billie Gene Body, and Depot Chopra offered exclusive shopping with professional discounts on products and services in makeup, hair, skincare, and tools. There were seven stages of education and a new curriculum of hands-on workshops and business classes.
The Makeup Show NYC 2026 created opportunities for artistic inspiration and career development. Presenting artists included Alexx Mayo, Kasey Spickard, SandyNicha, Delina Medhin, Kenya Alexis, Kayla Perez, Jordan Liberty, Mei Pang, and Danessa Myricks. Beyond education, the show offered additional networking and community building experiences including iArtist 8.0, an intimate mentorship program; The Beauty Mixer, a VIP networking event; Perfect Pitch, a 1-on-1 portfolio review resource area; and Artists United, a special masterclass event featuring Danessa Myricks and viral creator @paintedbyesther.
“As a working makeup artist, events like this feel so necessary,” commented one attendee, “yes, the deals and makeup shopping are amazing...but what really stands out is the sense of community: being surrounded by artists who are on a similar path, navigating the same industry shifts, and just getting it.”
Following the success of NYC, The Makeup Show is looking ahead to what’s next. The team is excited to announce that Creative Open House, a new traveling community event, will be coming to Los Angeles and Orlando this fall. The annual holiday pop up shop has also been scheduled to return to NYC, December 12-13. Further details will be shared via The Makeup Show’s newsletter and social media.
