New data from Allergan Aesthetics (AA) highlights show how quickly GLP-1 weight-loss medications are reshaping the aesthetics landscape as patients look for ways to address facial changes that can come with rapid weight loss.
According to the study, from 2023-2024, medical weight loss patients surged dramatically, increasing by 137%, with many seeking solutions for facial volume loss and skin laxity.
Insight Standouts:
- 40% of MWL patients are considering a professionally administered aesthetic treatment.
- One-third of physicians report that increased medical weight loss treatment use has led to a rise in demand for dermal filler treatments.
- 67% of patients say medical weight loss shifted their goals toward improving their appearance, not just losing weight.
- 60% of consumers receiving GLP-1 medications obtain them from providers who also offer aesthetic treatments, up from 49% in late 2024.
