Red Clover and Peptide Anti-hair Loss Blend

Unipex will introduce an anti-hair loss and hair regrowth active at In-Cosmetics in Milan. Capixyl (INCI: Water (aqua) (and) Butylene Glycol (and) Dextran (and) Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 (and) Trifolium Pratense (Clover) Flower Extract) combines a biomimetic signal peptide with red clover extract, which is rich in biochanin A.

The anti-hair loss blend, which was developed as a result of years of research conducted by the company with The Institut Européen de Biologie Cellulaire (IEB), reportedly targets three contributing factors to hair loss: hair miniaturization, hair anchoring and inflammation, which is an aggravating factor in hair loss.

The ingredient's ability to reduce hair loss is based on the modulation of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by inhibiting 5-α-reductase. In addition, it reportedly stimulates extracellular matrix renewal and anchoring proteins; it is also said to help regrow eyelashes.

Clinical tests reportedly demonstrated the ingredient to increase hair density by 46%. Further, it reportedly was more effective on hair growth than the reference product on the market, Minoxidil, and did not cause any side effects.

The active blend is recommended at 5% for intensive treatment and 0.5-2.5% for preventive treatment in hair care, anti-aging and anti-irritant products.
