According to the company, Kannabia Sense imparts multiple benefits by activating the brain areas related to pleasure, inducing higher self-esteem and improving skin characteristics associated with aging, health and youth; i.e., hydration, wrinkle reduction and skin radiance.

Kannabia Sense is said to interact with the skin microbiota to modulate neurochemical networks and enhance the feeling of comfort through the Microbiota-Skin-Brain Axis (MSBA). It achieves this by stimulating the skin microbiota to, in a natural way, produce a postbiotic blend that initiates the synthesis of cutaneous oxytocin to impart a systemic well-being response, which results in a healthier and stronger skin appearance.

The ingredient is free of cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). It was developed using a Phyto-Lipidic Fractions technology, designed to enrich the cell culture by signaling lipids that activate the MSBA.

Vytrus Biotech carried out numerous clinical assays to demonstrate the effectiveness of Kannabia Sense. Sensory properties were analyzed by functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), where activated areas of the brain are measured in response to certain stimuli. In volunteers, it was observed that applying a topical lotion with 2% of Kannabia Sense activated areas of the brain related to pleasure within 15 min of application, with even higher effects at 28 days. It followed the same brain activation pattern as is produced by chocolate.
