Skin cell renewal is activated by an ingredient from Nagase Personal Care, creating hydrating, wrinkle-reducing, UVB-protective and brightening effects in skin and sun care. This is thanks to the autophagy process, a mechanism activated by the ingredient that clears out the damaged components of skin cells, creating a detox effect.

Extremosio (INCI: Water (aqua) (and) Butylene Glycol (and) Trehalose (and) Hydrogenated Lecithin (and) Carbomer (and) Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan) (and) Sodium Phosphate (and) Sodium Hydroxide (and) Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate) is powered by trehalose, a natural disaccharide, or sugar, that activates autophagy. Trehalose is found in plants and animals that are able to withstand harsh environments, adding to the ingredient's anti-aging potential.

The active is also meant to promote homogeneous skin color distribution, along with removing and replacing damaged skin proteins.

Potential applications include after-sun care, anti-aging skin care and moisturizing products.
