TRI-K Industries, Inc., introduces three innovative actives at its debut solo exhibition during in-cosmetics Global, to be held April 8-10, 2025, in Amsterdam. The new solutions are designed to address critical market demands in hair density, skin hydration and skin brightening.

Revolutionizing Hair Care with a Scalp-targeted Active

To address the growing demand for hair thinning solutions, TRI-K launched DensiFoll (INCI: Glycerin (and) Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract (and) Hydrolyzed Rice Protein), an advanced active targeting hair density and longevity. This bio-based ingredient, derived from 99% natural sources, reportedly works at the scalp level by enhancing the environment for hair follicles and stimulating gene activity associated with hair growth. DensiFoll is formulated to visibly improve hair thickness and vitality over prolonged use, offering an effective solution for formulators developing high-performance products supporting thinning hair.

Key claims include:

  • Natural origin (99%),
  • Targets genes associated with hair growth and
  • Promotes a healthy scalp environment for visible improvements in density and thickness.

Next-Gen Ceramide Technology for Superior Skin Barrier Function

TRI-K also introduces TerraCera Renew NP (INCI:Ceramide NP), a high-performance ceramide derived through bio-fermentation that is said to deliver optimized results in skin barrier repair and hydration. Per the company, TerraCera Renew NP offers significant moisturization and reduction in trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL) at ultra-low concentrations, making it a standout among traditional ceramides. Its low-dosage efficiency positions it as a versatile choice for cost-effective formulations focusing on skin barrier health and sustained hydration.

Key claims include:

  • Bio-fermented ceramide technology,
  • Clinically proven TEWL reduction,
  • Effective at ultra-low concentrations,
  • Seamless integration for clean beauty formulations where low-dosage ceramides are critical, and
  • Enhances skin barrier for long-lasting hydration.

According to TRI-K, testing confirmed TerraCera Renew NP outperformed benchmarks in hydration retention.

High-Purity, Low-Irritation Niacinamide for Gentle Brightening

Finally, NiaPure (INCI: Niacinamide) is TRI-K’s new niacinamide derivative made via advanced bio-fermentation that represents a significant improvement in skin brightening technology, the company reports. Engineered to reduce skin irritation by up to tenfold compared with standard niacinamide, NiaPure demonstrates efficacy in balancing pigmentation, regulating sebum production, and addressing hyperpigmentation. Its ultra-pure formulation makes it particularly suitable for sensitive and reactive skin types, while retaining its proven benefits in melanin inhibition and tone correction.

Key claims include:

  • Fermentation-derived niacinamide,
  • Lowers irritation by 10X compared to traditional niacinamide,
  • Regulates sebum, minimizes melanin production and reduces hyperpigmentation, and
  • Designed for sensitive and reactive skin types.

Formulation Considerations and Market Applications

These new actives are reportedly designed with the latest consumer expectations and formulation trends in mind:

  • Clean beauty compatibility: Each ingredient aligns with the growing consumer demand for sustainably sourced, efficient and clean-label products.
  • High performance at low levels: Both TerraCera Renew NP and NiaPure allow formulators to achieve exceptional efficacy with minimal concentrations, reducing formulation costs and ingredient stacks.
  • Versatility: DensiFoll is suited for inclusion in various hair care formats such as serums and scalp treatments, while TerraCera and NiaPure integrate seamlessly across creams, lotions and even lightweight emulsions for broader product versatility.
