Globally, the market for body brightening lotions is projected to boom from U.S. ~$4 billion in 2023 to nearly $7.5 billion by 2032 (7.3% CAGR 2024 to 2032), Data Intelo reports. This growth is attributed in part to rising awareness of skin health and interest in multifunctional products, propelled by advances in formulas that are more effective, safe, and that include natural ingredients. The Gold Bond Body Bright Daily Body and Face Lotion, empowered by vitamin C, provides a strong example.
Gold Bond Body Bright Lotion
The Gold Bond Body Bright Daily Body and Face Lotion is clinically shown to improve skin dullness, texture and clarity after four weeks, the company reports. And after six weeks of daily use, 84% of users noticed visibly brighter skin.
Formulated with "highly effective," stabilized vitamin C, the product is said to help visibly brighten and smooth skin, with alpha hydroxy acids and antioxidants to reduce imperfections.
The lotion is claimed to deliver seven intensive moisturizers and three vitamins that provide 24-hr hydration. It is reportedly made for daily use, for healthy-looking, glowing skin.
Label claims include:
- Dermatologist tested,
- Non-comedogenic/does not clog pores,
- Fast-absorbing, and
- Free of parabens, phthalates and dyes.
Facial vs. Body Skin
To formulate body care, it helps to know key differences between facial and body skin. These include: thickness; sebaceous gland, sweat gland and hair follicle distribution; subcutaneous fat content; melanin composition; and response to external sensitivity, as Gopaul previously explained.
For example, in non-facial body skin, the distribution of sebaceous glands drops substantially, with smaller glands and a lower count on the extremities. Accordingly, the high lipid content from sebum secreted by sebaceous glands are limited in those areas, resulting in the skin being dryer than the face.
Epidermal thickness also varies in body skin. The skin on the dorsal forearm has a thicker stratum corneum, with more layers of corneocytes than the face. This contributes to a slower cellular differentiation rate, which may result in a rougher, uneven surface microrelief. The skin on the body is typically less sensitive to external stimuli as well, especially areas with a thicker epidermis.
In addition, related to skin brightening, some locations on the body such as the legs and abdomen are often more protected from external stressors such as UV, and therefore have less melanin variability. However, for areas exposed to the sun such as the neck, chest and top of the forearm, there may be even less melanin distribution, resulting in an uneven skin tone, which brings us full circle to body skin brightening.

User Feedback: Gold Bond Body Bright Lotion
Following are example user reviews (edited for style), selected for their anecdotal insights on product form and function.
- The texture is amazing, velvet soft on my skin. Non-greasy and absorbs quickly. Nice scent, not overpowering.
- It does as it says, brightening and moisturizing. Thick creamy consistency that, with warmth, spreads easily.
- This product helped improve the texture of my skin. It is not oily and does not make me break out.
- I'd been wanting a body lotion that had vitamin C... I'm actually shocked how well it worked on my face. In the mirror, I noticed an unreal glow and definitely an improvement in skin texture the first day I used it. PLEASE MAKE THIS IN A LARGER BOTTLE!
- I was looking for citrus-y smelling body lotion. Gold Bond Body Bright does smell great (mandarin orange). The texture is thick like a body butter. I was very surprised that you can use this on your body and face!
- I just started using this on my body and WOW! I’m hoping it comes in a larger bottle. Brighter, more even skin tone pretty much immediately. Not sticky, gives a pretty glow and smells like a walk through an orange orchard on a summer’s day.... Please never put lanolin in it as many of us have severe allergies to it. I would use more GB products if not for that.
