Study Reveals New Effects of Hormones on Skin Tone

It turns out that some receptors on melanocytes can trigger lightening or darkening of the skin, according to researchers at the University of Pennsylvania. A recent study revealed the changes in skin tone during interactions with progesterone or estrogen.

Clinical tests are currently underway to confirm the findings, which are expected to take some time. The results could have a significant impact on the future of pigmentation control and skin tanning and lightening.
