Colorescience has expanded its Even Up product line to address hyperpigmentation with a multi-correctional serum: Even Up Multi-Correction.

The Even Up Multi-Correction serum features a patented, reportedly clinically proven brightening complex to minimize the appearance of discoloration. The addition of this peptide and lipid blend, along with hydrating ingredients, result in smoother, hydrated skin that appears more even, luminous and healthy. The serum was formulated to work effectively alone and as part of a hyperpigmentation regimen.

In a 12-week clinical study to assess the efficacy and tolerability of the serum, 94% of all subjects reported their discoloration and dark spots improved, and experienced increased hydration and softer, smoother skin texture. Additionally, 100% of subjects who added the regimen to their existing skin care regimen experienced further improvement.

“A significant number of patients come to me with concerns about uneven skin tone,” noted Kimberly Wenner, M.D., board-certified dermatologist at Cascade Eye & Skin Centers and lead investigator in the study. “This study allowed me to clinically observe and evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the product and the regimen. The subjects in the clinical trial had a variety of pigmentation types including sun damage, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and melasma. 

“The results at each time point started as early as two weeks through the 12 weeks and showed progressive improvement in the subjects MASI score, as well as improvement in the appearance of dark spots, even skin tone, texture and hydration,” continued Wenner. “The product was well-tolerated and no adverse events were observed nor reported. I am excited to have the product commercially available as a safe and effective non-hydroquinone option for my patients.”
